Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) is the skilling and placement initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) GOI. The scheme focuses on catering to the occupational aspirations of rural youth and enhancing their skills for employment. The objective is to enable and mobilize a large number of Indian youth to take up outcome based skill training and become employable and earn their livelihood. Under the scheme, monetary reward would be provided to trainees who are successfully trained, assessed and certified in skill courses run by affiliated training providers.  

Implementation of DDU-GKY involves Central Government, State Governments,  Technical Support Agencies like the National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD), and Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs).

Sofcon is proud of being selected as PIA by Govt of Kerala, Kudumshree Mission (DDUGKY-Division) for skilling and placing 950 rural youths from State of Kerala under DDU-GKY, a skill & placement program run by  Ministry  of rural development, GOI.

NULM (National Urban Livelihoods Mission) is a scheme of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs that encourages urban poor to start up manufacturing and servicing small enterprises, and petty businesses, based on local skills, crafts, and demand. To reduce vulnerability and poverty of the urban poor households by enabling them to access paid self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities, leading to associate degree considerable improvement in their livelihoods on a property basis, through building robust grassroots level establishments of the poor. This Mission would also address livelihood concerns of the urban street vendors by facilitating access to suitable spaces, institutional credit, social security and skills to the urban street vendors for accessing emerging market opportunities.

RUSA (Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education- Government of India, launched in 2013 aims at providing strategic funding to eligible state higher educational institutions. The key objectives of RUSA are to boost access, equity and quality in instruction through planned development of upper education at the state level.
